Port Canaveral Off Shore May 2015

May has been a great and tough month all in the same sentence. In the beginning of the month we were greeted with some excellent Dolphin fishing. We had several days with good numbers of nice fish to 42 pounds. Then we had some of the wind that didn’t show up in March make its way here with almost 2 weeks of 15 to 20 knot winds and seas up to 7 feet. Hopefully we are on the summer pattern of weather with light winds and calm seas. With that said the fishing when we have been able to make it out has been very good across the board with Amber jacks and Grouper. The troll bite has slowed down with scattered Dolphin a few Wahoo and Sails mixed in the bag. The sharks have been plentiful on the beach with most of them averaging between 4 to 6 foot. As we get into June and July the Tarpon will start showing up on the beach around the bait pods. Most of these fish will be in the 60 to 80 pound range with a few of them hitting the 100 to 125 pound range.
