Happy New Year

Happy new year to everyone 2016 has come in with some wonderful fishing when the weather has allowed. We have been catching great numbers of King Mackerel with most of our trips catching their limit (2 per Person) very quickly. The bottom fishing has been very tough getting through the hoards of Red Snapper to catch anything else. With the start of the new year brings in the closure to grouper for the new 4 months. However there are still other fish to catch. On the troll has been slow with our waters cooling down. There are a few very scattered Sail Fish.

The near shore fishing has good with us catching some very large Sting Rays and there are still a few Bull Red Fish around.

The Shark fishing has been slow with the colder water temperature and dirtier water those fish have moved off the beach to the deeper and cleaner water.

Looking toward the future we are predicted to have colder than normal temperature for the next 3 months. So the fishing when we are able to get out should be very good. As spring nears and the water starts to warm up we should see an excellent Cobia season and a great dolphin run. The cobia we look for water temperature ranging form 68-72 degrees and the dolphin will begin their migration around 78-82 degrees.

Tight lines and Calm seas.
