April 2015 Port Canaveral Off Shore
We have had a great April so far. We have seen a wide variety of species from Sail Fish to Wahoo and large number of King mackerel with some weighing in over 45 pounds. The trolling bite is starting to pick up and with the favorable south east winds it will build a nice edge to troll on and produce some good numbers of Dolphin, Wahoo and Sail Fish.
The live and dead slow trolling on the reef has been very hot with a variety of species including Sail Fish, King Mackerel and a few Cobia.
The bottom bite has been tough. The reefs and wrecks that hold the large amber jacks have been very tough to get the fish through the sharks. The smaller bottom fish such as Trigger Fish and Sea Bass has been good.
On the Other Side of the stream the Dolphin bite has been wide open with fish ranging up to 50 pounds. The tuna bite has been hit or miss having to run a good ways to find the right pack.
